By the time you get this card I will be Postmaster of Santa Barbara, with Eva as assistant and it will be in Mr. Waha's store. Am sending Otto some more stamps. We are having [the] raining season now, it has been raining all week. Your loving son, Tony.

Part I

Editor's Note: We are introducing you today the first part of a serial, written by Naida Freudenberg. Naida has spent a great deal of time on this, and as it is a true story of her trip West, ought to hold a great deal of interest for Juniors. Write me how you like it.

It seems longer although it was only yesterday that Betty was back in Jersey City. On a clear, crisp Autumn day she was wending her way, by auto, through the hills of Pennsylvania with Mr. and Mrs. Harding and their daughter, Sally.
...

Part II

The drive stood up and said as they drove past, "drop in and see me when you are homeward bound."

Part III

Part IV

The two girls watched the surrounding scenery. There were many signs around proclaiming the fact that "Crystal Lake, just ahead." Two miles to "Dark Caverns."

Anna Lindauer (1873-1956) wife of Ira Lowe, grave marker.

Grave marker for Anna Lindauer (1873-1956) wife of Ira Lowe, at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, New York.

Note: Anna was the daughter of Charles Frederick Lindauer (1836-1921) and Anna Augusta Kershaw (1841-1931) aka Anna Kershow. She was born on "October 20, 1881" according to her obituary and her tombstone uses "1881". However there is an "Anna Lillian Lindauer" born on "October 20, 1872" in Manhattan to Charles and Anna. The nine year difference is difficult to reconcile, but obituaries have been known to be incorrect. The month and day of birth match what is in her obituary.

Frideborg Winblad (1869-1964) obituary in the Västernorrlands Allehanda on December 02, 1964

Frideborg Winblad (1869-1964) obituary in the Västernorrlands Allehanda on December 02, 1964.

Frideborg Winblad dead. Former head (seminarierektorn) of a training college, Miss Frideborg Winblad, of Härnösand died on Monday this week at the nursing home in Fristad where she lived her last years. She was 95 years old. Frideborg Winblad was one of the country´s women of distinction as regarding infant school education. When the state authorities, many years ago, started to develop better education for infant school teachers and to create a new plan (undervisningsplan) for [all] education, Miss Winblad became the only female member of the the committee. She was also during many years Vice Chairman of the board of the National Association for Infant-School Teachers. Frideborg Winblad was born in Bredbyn (now Anundsjö), where her father was an organist. After passing her exams at the seminary for primary school teachers (folkskollärare) in Umeå 1896, she began to work as a teacher at the infant school; she attended the seminary training college in Härnösand, and became in 1907 its head. She stayed at this post until she retired in 1929. Her personlaity made her popular among colleges, pupils and friends, whose thankfulness made them found a scholarship in her name on her 70th birthday. Nearest grieving are the children of her siblings and their families.
