STATEMENT:

Qualified: John has the integrity, work ethic and broad experience as a businessman, administrator, and legislator that we need. John listens to people, and works to find solutions. He is a leader who keeps his word and understands hard times.

Compassionate: John cares about individual people. He will put together a government reflecting the people of Alaska, including many qualified minorities ignored by Knowles. He supports fully funded education with higher standards, a back to basics curriculum, more parental control and home schooling. John will work to make private medical insurance available to all Alaskans while completely reorganizing CSED and DFYS.

Conservative: John supports your values and your rights. He opposes partial birth abortions, homosexual marriages and supports your gun rights. John supports opening ANWR, logging, mining, and protecting access for hunting and fishing while building the best winter and summer trail and access system in the world for non-motorized and motorized users.

Optimistic About Alaska's Future: John is committed to high wage jobs and a multiple-year early retirement offer for public employees and teachers; restoring the University, improving ferry schedules to attract passengers, improving roads for travelers, and seeking federal funds to expand our railroad. John will always protect subsistence and buy back Outside commercial permits so Alaskan fisherman make more money and more fish escape into rivers for all Alaskans.
