The inscription on the reverse of the photograph reads: "Morbror Manne 19/9 05 Snart 77 år" which translates into English as "Maternal uncle Manne, May 19th 1905, soon 77 years old". The photograph most likely belonged to John Edward Winblad (1856-1914) and was found in the collection of Maria Elisabeth Winblad II (1895-1987) and is now archived by Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ).
